As to the report, subscribing to pay-TV service slumped. Reuters said that, more than 400,000 pay-TV users have “cut the cord” already since January.
The US top satellite TV provider, DirectTV, claimed that it lost 52,000 customers in the 2nd quarter. The second large TV provider in the U.S., reported that they lost 169,000 people in the 2nd quarter. Berstein Research analyst said that the trend of losing more people are still on the way. Why things go on like that? The reason is obvious. There are ton of devices and Web sites that let people watch cable TV shows and movies via the Internet without needing to subscribe to a pay-TV service.
However, do you think that cable TV shows can instead of traditional TV programs? At least, I don’t think so. You can enjoy a TV program with a lot of your friends and families, but can you enjoy a cable TV programs with a lot people? I am afraid the answer is a “no”. A TV set is for a group of people, whereas the computer is for a single person. And what is your point of view to this issue?
